“I’m in the best shape of my life and I don’t cringe when I look at my body.”
Why did you come to NuYou?
I came to NuYou because I was tired of making excuses on why I didn’t need to change my lifestyle habits. I was ashamed going up in shirt and pant sizes and sometimes would pretend it wasn’t happening. I heard the radio ads for years and during quarantine I decided it would be the perfect time to try the free consultation.
What did you enjoy most about NuYou?
I enjoyed coming in every week to share my celebrations with staff. Even if it was half a pound, the ladies had my back. Seeing the inches come off as well because things are happening even if the pounds didn’t go down. I also liked how easy the programs were to follow especially with a busy lifestyle.
How has weight loss impacted your self-esteem?
I am more confident in my body. I’m willing to wear clothes I otherwise avoided because I didn’t think I looked good in them. I am also more comfortable looking at my body and accepting what I look like and take pride in my changes. I even enjoy wearing leggings now!
Has your weight loss impacted your family and/or community life?
Since I started the program, other family members have decided to change their habits as well. We were/are able to support each other because we are going through similar struggles and accomplishments. Although my sister said I changed too fast – haha!
It’s been interesting to see my students’ reactions to my weight loss because they see me everyday. They often ask how it is going and know not to give me treats. I’ve inspired many coworkers to join the program and its been nice having that community feel.
Socially: Dating life has improved because I’m more confident and not concerned with how I look. The support I received from my friends helped me to stick to my program.
Has your weight loss improved your health or activity levels?
Besides losing my gallbladder, I’ve noticed I have had less digestive issues because I haven’t been eating greasy/fatty foods. I am conscious of foods I choose to eat and keep away from foods that I know wills et me back. My knee pain has also gone away that I would sometimes get. Over the summer I was taking a two milk walk 4-5x a week. Now with winter I have tried doing elliptical workouts. I notice I’m not as tired during the days and don’t need to take naps.
Do you look better and/or feel better?
Yes! I don’t feel run down as much. I can’t believe how many pant sizes and shirt sizes I have gone down. I am in the best shape of my life and I don’t cringe when I look at my body. My view of how I look has changed for the better. My mindset of comparing myself to others has changed as well. I can only compete with myself!
